THREE FORMS OF UNITY

The CRCNA affirms three confessions:
the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort,
as historic Reformed expressions of the Christian faith,
whose doctrines fully agree with the Word of God.

These 2011 translations of the Three Reformed Standards is the result of
the work of a joint task force formed by the Christian Reformed Church of North America
and the Reformed Church in America.

The Heidelberg Catechism
The Heidelberg Catechism was written in 1563, and is a personalized confession of faith.

The Belgic Confession
Written in 1561, the Belgic Confession points to the continuity of Reformed belief with that of the ancient Christian creeds.

The Canons of Dort
The Canons are a finely tuned theological writing, delineating a biblically Reformed perspective on matters central to a Christian life and experience.
